Direct Amarr Ordering
Amarr’s 1000 series is single-layer steel, the 2000 series adds a polystyrene core (about R-6.5) and the 3000 series is a triple-layer sandwich with 2 inch polystyrene (about R-13). For an attached garage in Renton we almost always recommend the 3000 build.

We take down the old door, tracks and springs, haul them away and recycle the steel. You are left with a clean, balanced new door and the warranty paperwork.
Options and warranty
Single layer for a detached shed, 2000 series polystyrene for a garage used for parking only, 3000 series triple layer (about R-13) when a bedroom or living room sits next to or above the garage. The 3000 door is also the quietest and most dent resistant.
Amarr window sections come in clear, obscure, frosted and insulated glass with a dozen decorative inserts. In the Northwest we recommend insulated glass on the 3000 series so the window row does not become a cold spot.
Amarr residential steel doors carry a limited lifetime warranty against rust-through on the steel sections and multi-year coverage on paint, hardware and springs that varies by series. Perfection Garage Door adds a workmanship guarantee and registers the door for you.
How an Amarr order works
We install Amarr doors across Renton neighborhoods such as the Highlands, Kennydale, Benson Hill, Fairwood and Cascade, and in the neighboring cities of Kent, Tukwila, Newcastle, Bellevue, Issaquah and Sammamish. Choose the 3000 series (triple layer, about R-13) if the garage is attached and any living space shares a wall or ceiling with it. The 2000 series (polystyrene, about R-6.5) is fine for a detached garage used for parking. The 1000 series is single-layer steel and best kept for sheds and outbuildings.
In most Renton area HOAs, yes, if the style, color or window layout changes. Fairwood, Cascade, Newcastle and the Issaquah Highlands boards usually ask for a panel style, color chip and window drawing. We supply the Amarr spec sheet with your quote so you can submit it before we order; approval commonly takes 2 to 4 weeks.
Standard Amarr colors and sizes arrive at our Renton shop in about 2 to 4 weeks from order; custom colors and wood-grain finishes can take 4 to 6. Installation is a single visit of 3 to 5 hours for a 16×7 door, including removal of the old door and haul-away.
Usually, if it is under about 10 years old, has working safety sensors and enough lifting power for the new door’s weight. An insulated 3000 series door is heavier than a 1990s single-layer door, so we rebalance the springs and reset the opener force.
